Pride Month is observed in many places throughout June as a time connected to LGBTQ+ visibility, history, and the ongoing work of safety and dignity.

For some people, Pride is celebratory and communal. For others, it is reflective, private, or complicated. For many, it is shaped by where they live, what is safe, and what visibility costs.

I want to acknowledge Pride Month without assuming anyone’s identity, level of outness, or relationship to community.

If Pride is part of your life, I hope this month offers moments of connection, ease, and belonging. If it is not, I hope it can still serve as a reminder that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and care — without being asked to justify who they are.
