The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. In many traditions, it is a seasonal turning point — a moment of fullness and light, and also the beginning of the gradual return toward longer nights.

For some people, the solstice is spiritual or ceremonial. For others, it is simply a marker in the natural calendar: a reminder that cycles move whether we keep up or not.

I want to acknowledge the Summer Solstice without assuming how it is observed, or whether it is observed at all.

If this turning point is meaningful for you, I hope it offers a moment to notice what is flourishing, what is demanding, and what needs care. And if it is not, the simple fact of the season changing can still be a gentle prompt to pause.
