The Islamic New Year marks the beginning of a new year in the Hijri calendar and is observed by Muslim communities around the world.
For some, this day is quiet and reflective, centred on remembrance and intention rather than celebration. For others, it passes gently, marked internally or within family and community.
I want to acknowledge the Islamic New Year without assuming how it is observed, or what it means in any one life.
The turning of a year can invite reflection on continuity, responsibility, and care — themes that resonate across cultures and traditions.
If this day is meaningful to you, I hope it offers steadiness and clarity. And if it is not, the idea of marking time with intention may still feel quietly relevant.
