Triage Guardian

A Triage Guardian is a specialized role or function within the context of BDSM and kink communities. Often utilized in larger scenes or events, a Triage Guardian’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and well-being of participants by assessing situations where emotional or physical distress may occur and providing immediate care or intervention.

Responsibilities and Functions

  • Assessment: Triage Guardians are trained to quickly assess the emotional and physical state of participants in a BDSM scene or event. They must determine the severity and type of assistance or intervention needed.
  • Intervention: They step in when a scene becomes too intense or if a participant uses their safeword. Their intervention can range from providing aftercare, facilitating communication between involved parties, or even halting a scene if necessary.
  • Safety Monitoring: Throughout an event, Triage Guardians keep an eye on various interactions and practices to ensure that they adhere to the established safety protocols.
  • Emotional Support: Apart from physical safety, they also provide emotional support to participants who might be overwhelmed or in distress.

Importance in BDSM Context

In BDSM, the safety, consent, and well-being of all participants are paramount. The role of a Triage Guardian is crucial as it ensures that these aspects are continuously monitored and managed. By having a dedicated role like this, event organizers can prevent potential harm and promote a safer environment where all participants can explore their boundaries securely.

Triage Guardian

A Triage Guardian is a role commonly found in the practice of polyamory or non-monogamy. This role involves a person who helps manage and prioritize the emotional needs and well-being of individuals within a polyamorous or non-monogamous relationship network. The Triage Guardian acts as a mediator or support person who assists in resolving conflicts, providing emotional support, and ensuring that everyone's needs are being met to the best of their ability.

In a polyamorous or non-monogamous dynamic, conflicts or emotional challenges can arise due to the complexity of multiple relationships and individuals involved. The Triage Guardian helps navigate these challenges by offering a neutral perspective, facilitating communication, and promoting understanding among all parties. They may also assist in setting boundaries, addressing jealousy, and promoting healthy relationship dynamics within the network. The Triage Guardian plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and harmonious environment for everyone involved in the relationships.
